1 story, 1 idea, 1 discovery, 1 tool, 1 book.
Implementation rate
20%
A simple self-tracked ratio for reflection — a low rate isn’t necessarily bad, it depends on your goals.
A simple tracker that compares how many ideas you generate each week with how many actually get done, and shows the implementation rate as a percentage. It suits creators, writers, designers and founders who keep a notebook full of ideas and feel that almost nothing turns into delivered work.
You enter ideas generated per week and ideas implemented per week. The tool divides implemented by generated and multiplies by 100, with the result capped between 0% and 100%. If you generated none (the field is zero), the rate shows as 0%. It takes just two inputs and one division; the aim is to give you a number to follow week by week.
If you generate 10 ideas a week and act on 3, the rate is 3 / 10 x 100 = 30%. If the next week you generate 6 and implement 3, the rate rises to 50%. Notice that it improved without you doing more; you simply filtered better what was worth executing.
A low rate is not necessarily bad: generating many ideas and discarding most is part of creative work. The tool does not measure the quality or value of ideas, only the ratio. Use it as personal tracking.
Music, books, films and opinions feel personal, yet taste is always shaped by exposure. Recommendation systems now influence what we even get the chance to discover.
Why simple, predictable systems deserve more recognition than dramatic new initiatives.
