$390.00
Left after the reserve
$2,610.00
A planning estimate; real values depend on contracts, rates, taxes and each case's conditions.
Made for freelancers and self-employed people who receive the full amount and need to set aside the tax share before spending. Enter the payment received and your estimated tax rate, and instantly see how much to put in the reserve and how much is really left for you.
The math is simple and deliberately transparent: the payment is multiplied by the tax rate you enter, divided by 100, and the result is the reserve to set aside. The take-home amount is the payment minus that reserve. Use the effective rate for your tax regime rather than the top bracket from a table. No tax rate is built into the tool: it only applies the percentage you type, which lets you test scenarios freely.
You receive 8,000 from a client and estimate that 15% of it will go to taxes. The reserve is 1,200, which should move to a separate account as soon as the payment lands. The take-home amount available to spend and invest is 6,800.
This is an estimate based on a single rate you provide. The right rate depends on your tax regime and deductions. Consult an accountant. It does not replace tax or legal advice.
