Once a week: 5 things worth your time.
1 story, 1 idea, 1 discovery, 1 tool, 1 book.
Review your home's basic security points, one by one. Your progress is saved on this device.
The home security checklist helps you review, point by point, the basic protection of your house or apartment: doors and windows, lighting, alarms and detectors, and daily habits. It suits people who just moved, are about to travel, or want to make sure they have not missed something obvious. Progress is saved on your device.
There is no calculation: it is an interactive list in four blocks. Entry points cover door locks, window latches, a reinforced door frame and a peephole or camera. Lighting suggests exterior lights, motion sensors and timers for when you are away. Systems reminds you of alarms, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fire extinguisher. Habits covers neighbors, mail and spare keys. You tick what you have checked.
Before a two-week trip, you tick the locks on doors and windows, set a light on a timer, ask a trusted neighbor to keep an eye out and hold your mail delivery. When you return, you check the extinguisher's expiry date and test the smoke detectors, ticking each item.
This is a general list of good practices and does not guarantee protection against crime or accidents. Risks vary by region and type of home. For security projects, consult professionals and local regulations.
