The unit converter translates everyday measurements between the metric and imperial systems: kilometers to miles, kilograms to pounds, degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit and liters to gallons. It suits travelers, anyone following an American recipe, people shopping abroad online, or anyone reading a thermometer in another country.
You type a value into each of four cards: distance in km, weight in kg, temperature in °C and volume in liters. The tool uses fixed factors: 1 mile equals 1.60934 km, 1 pound equals 0.453592 kg and 1 gallon equals 3.78541 liters. For temperature it multiplies by 9, divides by 5 and adds 32. Conversion runs from metric to imperial only, and each result is shown with two decimal places.
For a 10 km run, the tool divides by 1.60934 and shows about 6.21 miles. A 23 kg suitcase divided by 0.453592 comes to roughly 50.71 pounds. A temperature of 25 °C becomes 77 °F (25 × 9 ÷ 5 + 32). And 10 liters works out to about 2.64 gallons.
The factors are the international standards, but results are rounded to two decimals, which can cause tiny differences. The gallon used is the US gallon. For technical, scientific or commercial work, check the precision you need.
