Plan A — cost per Mbps
$0.20
Plan B — cost per Mbps
$0.16
Plan B is the better value per Mbps.
Based only on price and advertised speed. Real-world speed and reliability can vary.
This compares two internet plans by cost per Mbps, not just monthly price. It helps when choosing between a cheaper, slower plan and a pricier, faster one, or weighing a provider's switch offer. The tool shows which plan delivers more speed for each dollar paid.
You enter the monthly price and advertised speed in Mbps for plans A and B. For each, the tool divides price by speed to get the cost per Mbps. The lower cost per Mbps indicates better value; if both are equal, the result is a tie. If speed is zero, the cost per Mbps is undefined and a dash is shown instead.
Plan A costs $100 a month with 300 Mbps; plan B costs $130 with 600 Mbps. Plan A works out to $0.33 per Mbps (100 / 300) and B to $0.22 per Mbps (130 / 600). Although it costs $30 more, plan B offers the better value per Mbps.
The calculation uses only price and advertised speed. Real speed, stability, latency, data caps, contract terms, installation fees, and customer service are left out and may matter more. Also, more Mbps only helps if you truly need that speed.
