This is an educational self-check, not a clinical diagnostic instrument. If you're concerned about your mental health, seek a qualified professional.
A quick, non-clinical self-check for people who suspect work is wearing them down. Eight questions cover exhaustion, dread, cynicism and feeling less effective, then boil down to a low, moderate or high level. It is a starting point for reflection, not a diagnosis of anything.
You answer eight questions about how often something happens, from never to always, each worth 0 to 5 points. The answers are added up for a total between 0 and 40. That total is compared with the maximum: under 40% is low, from 40% up to just under 70% is moderate, and 70% or more is high. Each level comes with a short description and a suggested next step.
Suppose your eight answers are 3, 2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3 and 2. They add up to 20 out of 40, which is 50% of the maximum. Because that falls between 40% and 70%, the result is the moderate level, with a suggestion to review workload and rest or talk to someone you trust.
This is not a clinical instrument and does not diagnose burnout, depression or any condition. The bands come from a simple sum and do not replace a professional assessment. If you are struggling, reach out to a mental health professional or a trusted HR contact.
